Poaching and illegal wildlife trade of the Indian pangolin are the main threats driving the decline of this species in Pakistan. In addition to the general lack of awareness, pangolins are seen as an agricultural pest. There are other negative perceptions among local communities that intensify the problem of protecting pangolins, which leads to increased poaching. With funding from the Pangolin Crisis Fund, the project aims to strengthen in-situ pangolin conservation by enhancing law enforcement capacity and improving community awareness to effectively protect this species.
