Africa Nature Investors Foundation (ANI) is a Nigerian NGO that believes Africa’s wildlife, and ecosystems are fundamental to the wellbeing of African people. We also aim to demonstrate investment in conservation can be profitable, generate revenue and promote development locally and nationally. Our first project is the protection and development of Gashaka Gumti National Park, Nigeria’s largest park and a stronghold for pangolins. The park was on the brink of destruction when we signed a 30-year co-management agreement with the government to save it. This second phase grant will go towards protection of the park and its endangered population of giant and white-bellied pangolins. Support from the Pangolin Crisis Fund will go towards ranger equipment and patrol rations, a new ranger outpost, community livelihoods projects and camera traps.
