Expanding Pangolin Conservation in Africa

Grantee Tikki Hywood Foundation
Type Protecting Pangolin Landscapes
Grant Amount $28,500
Duration 1 year

The Tikki Hywood Foundation (THF) is a Zimbabwe-based conservation organization and an early pioneer in pangolin rescue/rehabilitation. Now they are expanding their work both geographically and thematically. The grant from the Pangolin Crisis Fund has enabled them to expand their conservation work into new countries in Africa and strengthen their conservation research capacity across their programs in Africa. In South Africa for example, THF plans to work with landowners to install pangolin-safe electric fences to minimize accidental electrocution, which is in fact the number one threat to pangolins in South Africa.
