The African Pangolin Working Group was established in 2011 and accomplished notable victories over the years with a small group of dedicated staff and volunteers. The organization is currently in the process of change, under new management, and in a growth phase. The successes that have been achieved can be leveraged further for increasing the landscape of awareness, data collection, research, rehabilitation and release of pangolins back to the wild; and new projects are on the horizon. The group will benefit substantially from experts, for maximizing their impact, and in order to continue to fulfill their mission statement “conserving Africa’s pangolin species and the habitat they occupy”. This Pangolin Crisis Fund grant will fund the strategic planning, and implementation of systems that growing organizations need in order to flourish, with a diverse and inclusive team.
